Tie the Knot Thusday - 4/7/11

I learned many years ago that there are over 300 unique varieties of honey in the US. Ever since then I’ve been in love with honey. Trying it from regions of the world, different states and even combinations of simple varieties so I can say I’ve tried most of them. Bees are amazing creatures; they work hard all year and in the end, the come out with something beautiful. It’s a lot like planning a wedding, hard work before something beautiful comes out in the end.

(Remember to click on the photos for the Etsy site of these amazing artists)

I think these candle pails of beeswax candles are really cute! They would be lovely with a ribbon around them in the center of a tablescape for a farmhouse wedding. Cute, creative and one of a kind for guests to take home, or keep them and put them on the porch in the summer!

There is a tradition amongst many spiritual people that is called Handfasting. It is a binding of souls for a specific amount of time that is significant for many of us. I think these candles are the perfect way to bring the whole event together with handmade candles specific to your needs! I am thinking these will come in handy for me.

How pretty is this little bracelet? It will work for years after the wedding and it goes with every outfit! I want this for my little fairy girls.

These are beautiful. They would be perfect with yellow flowers in them and could make Dave sneeze for days. BUT… it’s MY day right??

Disney on Ice: Princess Classics

Last week I had the opportunity to hang out with some of my favorite ladies and all their kids. Let me tell you, the amount of tulle, sparkle and bouncy girls was beautiful in the Denver Coliseum and they were all gathered for one special occasion.

Princess'

                                                                   Lots of them.

                                                                 Ice skating.

                                                                     Villans.

                                                                    Jewels

There was even a fight against the evil Ursula and with the amount of knights in shining armor every little boy has something to aspire to as well! If you have an opportunity, make sure you see this in your town! It's the best thing out there and the look on every little one's face is beautiful.

There is still time left!
They will be in Arizona for the next week!    Get your tickets now at Ticketmaster.com!

Love Words - Week 14

Unforgettable in every way

And forever more, that's how you'll stay

That's why, darling, it's incredible

That someone so unforgettable

Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Tie the Knot Thursday - 4/1/11

Okay, okay, I’ll let ya’ll in on a secret that I’ve been keeping. It’s not a huge secret but for some of you it’ll help for you to “plan” and not make any vacations or events during this time. The wedding will be sometime in September or October of 2012.

For my beloved high school and childhood friends, I will be having a reception in Texas sometime during October of 2012 for those of you that can’t travel.

Whew… there, I said it. It’s official since I said it out loud right?

(Now, onto the lovely Etsy creations from this week, sorry it’s a little late! Don’t forget to click on the photos to get to the Etsy site that these are at)

I love this idea. It’s cute for decorating, and I can change what I put in here after the wedding of course! In fact, we almost threw out a similar coat hanger, now I’m going to take it and sand it, paint it then put it in the hallway. I need something to decorate that space!

Am I allowed to throw a little girl fit with lace, arms and legs flailing around for this? I want…. So much. Antique spoons, the date I married the man of my dreams? Please…?

Will we have a ring bearer and flower girl? Possibly not, but things change, daily in my head. Do I want to see the three youngest walking down the isle with sweet smile? Heck yes? Do I think LaLa will throw a fit and want to be held, I’d place money on it. But if we do have a ring bearer it’ll be Jacob and for the pillow, I want this to hold the “rings of everafter”… Hmmm… perhaps I’ll get that sewn into the pillow.

I would love to have a cake that  tastes good and that people will enjoy. I also want one that fits my personality. (Dave’s going have a groom’s cake, he doesn’t know it yet, well... now he does. Hi honey!) Anyhow… that being said I would love to use this mold to make candy flowers on the cake and for future events.

This is how I want to send out “Save the Date” Reminders! If ya’ll get a strange card from me… it probably has this in it, then you’ll never forget the date, pretty cute idea huh?

Big Event Fundraising - Who wants the new generation of fundraisers?

School fundraiser ideas are ever changing in my kid’s school district. We have had everything from wrapping paper, to cookie dough and this last one was cool shaped pasta.

I love helping the school my kids go to, many school districts are having financial issues and the assistance from local families can make a difference for a music/sports or arts deparments,  but sometimes school fundraising items aren’t the best quality. So when grandparents, uncles, aunts and parents buy these items they don’t make it past the unwrapping stage, they are put aside as “cute items from the kids” but not very useful.

I want school fundraising brochures that offer kitchen/grilling items! I want to grill with cedar planks and salmon, baste my chicken with tangy BBQ sauce and use new items like pancake pens during Sunday morning breakfast.

What better way to buy gifts early for relatives so when the holidays roll around I already have them done and I can get things for the kids. Though my kids are cool, I’m certain they don’t want a bite size brownie mold. (But if you are curious… Yes, I’d like one)

Not only are those items things that I can use and purchase but I also want good incentives for my kids to want to sell. After having kids for the past 19 years I’ve come across so many of these fundraisers and if we purchase three items and they can come home with a water wiggler or a fan that breaks the night they get it, then there are tears and dismay through out the house for the entire weekend. I don’t know about you but that is NEVER fun for me!

I love that Big Event Fundraising has incentive parties, at the school! This Super Splash Party sounds like a lot of fun and it’s a great incentive for the kids to sell 8 or more items. I am sure their cute little smiles will get that in a flash!

WHAT’S AT THE SUPER SPLASH PARTY?

• inflatable wild rapids ride

• giant inflatable water slide

• inflatable water tag arena

• inflatable slip-n-slide

• ‘Fun Flush’ soaker

• a live DJ and more!

So… now I just need to find out who the PTO president is at my kids school and tell them about this, because really, I wanna play in the water too!
