Love Sac Contest- Worst Furniture

Ok.. My worst piece of furniture was this couch. It was old.. I mean ancient old when we got it.
Horrible 70's upholstry with orange, yellows and browns, wood outline.. it was HORRIBLY nasty.

And the worst part was everyone slept on it (we used to be the "party" house). Anyone who slept on it though, would end up rolling into the crease between the back of the pillows and the bottom of the top cushions (You know, where your butt ends up, and all of your change falls in.)

This couch was so worn people used to sleep and accidently roll into it. One of my friends woke up with 1/2 of his head, one arm and one leg exposed, and that was it, the couch had eaten the rest of his body. Needless to say he FREAKED out and we grossed out for days.

The couch has thankfully been gone for many years, and now... we have nicer furniture. HOWEVER, I have wanted a Love Sac for years... I mean it.. they are comfy, and I'd switch out my bed for it (on weekends at least).

So.. I have to go and try to win this. If any of you want to try and win it as well. (I'll tackle you and steal it, but go ahead and try.) Go here to PingandWin.

Good luck!!

Save.... me....I'm in the middle of *that* week. Kids everywhere, arguing over who got woke up first by Faith. However, I can't complain too much, they are cooking breakfast... I got some good kids :)

And me with a tooth ache! I took some vicodin last night though, that was good for my sleep and my sanity. I am going to the dentist at noon to get it checked out!

OH, and I got a new bed.. OMG.. I'm so happy! Comfy, warm, MINE! No past relationship drama in it, it's a clean slate for me. I haven't had a new bed in 6 years, it was time for me to start over!
I also have very little things under my bed, it's helpful for the energy to flow around my bed (Feng Shui rules :) )

Ok.. run down on the kids.

Kara is sick. Yep.. she's like Crystal's girl... got sick on the first few days of spring break. 101.5 fever last night, she felt like she was on fire. I was driving across town at midnight to pick up a thermometer ( I dropped the digital one in the sink), Yep, it was a long night .

Ashlyn is making potatoes. Apparently she's pretty good at the stove. So this morning, she's cooking some spiced potatoes to eat with breakfast.

Joey has grown to be an amazing big brother. He runs around with them, rough houses with them, he's just great. I took some cute pictures of them today.

Faith is beautiful. I just stare at her sometimes and wonder where she got her smarts, and her AMAZING hair, it's so thick. So I guess her dad and her went and got her hair cut (I was pissed at first) It was down to her butt. But they donated it to Locks for Love, so I can't complain!

Issa is in love with Faith. She hasn't let her out of her sight all day! It's pretty cute. She's learning to talk more and more each day, I love watching her grow.

La-La, she is finally starting to grow out of newborn clothes probably in about 2 weeks when she's 3 months old, she will actually fit in 0-3 month clothes. At this age Issa was growing out of 3 month clothes, but La La is starting out very petite. That is ok though! It's nice to have my little one stay a little one.

Ok.. Off to help my kids with breakfast. I'm starved, I can only eat the eggs because of my teeth but, it's better than nothing :)

Now I guess I have to fullfill my obligation :)

Ya'll are next!

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

A.) I was hit by a car when I was 12 years old. I got stitches in my head and road burn on my hip. I didn't go to school the next day because I was in the hospital. I was ANGRY because I missed school and didn't get the perfect attendance award. The person who hit me was the sister of one of my classmates, she and I never spoke to one another again.

B.) When I was growing up I wanted 12 children. Now, I'd be happy with 8-10.

C.) I am a pretty good poker player. I have two raccoon penis bones that I wear on me for good luck.

D.) I like to snowboard in the winter. I own my snowboard but it doesn't have bindings on it. Hopefully I will get it next year so I can snowboard again! Oh.. and I'm horrible at it!

E.) I make my bed every morning. When I was first single, it was the only part of my life I felt as if I had control over. Going to bed was a relaxing thing because it always smelled of lavendar, and it was nice and neat. It was my sanity in a very hard time.

F.) I don't like dogs or cats. I LOVE birds and fish.

G.) I was on the USS swim team through my teenage years. I was never an amazing swimmer, but it was the most enjoyable sport I ever participated in.

Ok.. Now, I'm gonna run off and tag some people!!

Ok... so here it is!

What a HECTIC life it's turned out to be.

Here is all is in a nutshell, NOT in order :)

#1 Happy EASTER!

I hope everyone eats alot of candy, hunts for eggs (and other things if they are out there), has GREAT weather like Colorado is having, and is spending time with family and friends.

Here is our personal Ostara pictures from Thursday. It was a GREAT night!!

#2 The new child.

Thursday night we finalize plans for Kara's friend Amber to spend the weekend with us. Her mother (I found out later it was her step mother), called and confirmed it was ok, and then she took the bus home on Friday with Kara from school.

That day it appears that the Step mother (while on the road to Kansas), got into a fight with Amber because of some issues with the school. Around 7pm Amber calls her, and she kicks the 17 year old girl out of the house, saying, "I can't deal with you, you need to get your stuff and move out." This isn't a bad girl, in the scheme of things. She's a virgin (pretty good for a 17 year old girl these days), she is an A/B student, she doesn't do drugs and she's respectful. She has a tough exterior at times, it's hard to get to her. I suppose she just needs to take time to feel safe, y'know?

This girls had a hard life, in foster care of the past 4-5 years. She had finally contacted her real father (her bio mother was a charmer let me tell you, needless to say they don't speak.), and moved in with him. After about three months the bio dad and step mom seperate, and bio dad moves to Oklahoma. So Amber has been living with stepmom ever since. This story is very similar to mine, and it hit a pretty hard cord with me, What was I supposed to do?

Interestingly enough I had signed up to volunteer at an adoption agency here in Denver on Tuesday. I wanted a way to give back to the system, and to find all the ends and outs of adoption/foster care, so that I could start doing it in a few years.

Life has an amazing way of throwing things in your lap to find out if you are ready... I'm ready.

Here is a few pictures.

Kara and Amber

Amber outside yesterday. Right before it snowed.

We told her that we didn't have a ton of money, but we were safe and that we were a large family so it was noisy. *laughs* I think she'll fit in just fine.

Ok.. I have to go. I am moving the rooms around so that we can fit another person in the house!

I'll post more later tonight!

~Warm Blessings,

Lilith
