Chill.....

I was rushing around my room cleaning up and trying to get some chores done. I had CNN on in the background and was listening about a bombing in Iraq.

LaLa was jumping on the bed and singing to herself when suddenly the room went quiet. I peeked my head out of the bathroom to see my toddler staring back at me with the remote in her hand.

I groaned her name and snatched the remote out of her hand then looked at the screen.

It had switched over to the "Chill" channel, calming music filled the room as I turned to look at my little girl.

The powers that be had another idea about my afternoon, it was a hint.

Slow Down

Enjoy this time

So.... I did, we curled up on the bed and enjoyed the rare weekday quiet time.

LaLa's 1st Birthday

She was born about 8 days early and I had no issue with that. I was induced because her heart rate dropped and they wanted to make sure she could come into the world safely.

It was the longest of my labors and that was strange for me, never having a labor like that, I can't imagine those women who labor for days.

There were complications afterward, issues with her father, issues with my own body and a few fearful moments where I was surrounded by nurses all of them trying to stop hemorrhaging and me being quite oblivious to the concerns until afterward.

She has proven to be just as different of a child as her entrance into the world was.

7pds, 2oz and a thin layer of black hair.

Suzanne was the smallest of my six children, Fitting that she is the last of us. She is not much of a baby who is frivolous with her emotions. She smiles and is happy, however not without provocation or reason. She loves her family and finds outside forces to be unworthy of her time or even something to be fearful of. She is one year old.... and yes... a snob!

Happy Birthday Baby Suzanne (LaLa)

Dear Huggies....

Dear Huggies,

My child is a devious mastermind. I understand that about her. She is the youngest and is learning all the tricks of the trade from watching the older children.

*She has mastered the comb over (since her hair is growing like a chia pet)
*At anytime she can get her sister in trouble, even when she's not close to her.
*Cuts can appear on her face whenever she desires, just to make me look bad.

However, today, she figured out a trick I've never seen.
At 11 months, she has figured out how to undo one side of her diaper, and then crawl around until her poop comes out the side and down into the footed part of her pants.

Yep... she's a genius.

I would ask that perhaps.. you create a diaper with a safety latch or some warning signal when it's opened (If they can do with with greeting cards, I'm sure you can find a way to incorporate it into the velcro part of your diapers).

This would help me immensely when I'm changing a squirmy girl and find poop... on her chest, because it rolled up there when I undid her pajamas.

Thank you,
Mom of six, still seeing something new every day!

~Now.. I must sterilize my child...~

Christmas of Dreams Party Day 1

Sponsors for day 1 are: Day One Blog Party Question is Brought to you by La Belle Toile and This and That by Randi

Hi all!

Well... I do love to talk about my kiddos! As if everyone didn't notice, so here I am going to introduce you to last years Christmas.

I have always loved putting up my holiday village. I do not believe my home is Christmas-y without ours. Every year I change it up, put up different people, move around the village, and every year I get choked up putting our village into place. I don't know why, perhaps it is the memory of a happier time, regardless.. I love it.

Then... there was last Christmas. I was 15 days from giving birth to baby LaLa and as big as a house. If you are uncomfortable seeing me in this hugely bloated stage... BE WARNED it is NOT pretty. This is at my friend Brad's house.

The year before on Christmas my little girl Issa was born. Christmas morning at 7:20am, so she celebrated her birthday on Christmas eve... Can you tell she really cared one iota about the gifts?? Nope?... Me neither!....

So, now I have to little princess' to celebrate the holidays with the rest of the clan!

I hope you will join me for the rest of the Mom Dot Christmas of Dreams Blog Party. Trust me... it's gonna be a lot of posts and pictures of my family!
