Barnes and Noble Events - November 2014

Last night I had the pleasure of attending an event at Barnes & Noble, the bookstore, one of my favorite places to go and wander through. When was the last time you took the afternoon and just perused books, looked at new recipes and saw what kind of games were new in the world of family fun night?

It’s been a while huh? How about going this weekend?

Barnes and Noble is having a Discovery weekend for November 21-23, 2014.

Friday, Nov 21;

7pm: Linkee Trivia Tournament: Linkee is a super-simple, shouty-out quiz game with a twist: you don’t win by answering the questions, but by working out what the answers have in common!
For example, if the answers were John, Paul, George and Ringo, the Linkee would be, The Beatles. Easy, right? * Recommended for ages 14 and up but having a cheering squad of younger kids would be great!

Saturday, Nov 22;

10am: Create with ArtFolds This ArtFolds book is more than just a book! Inside are simple instructions that show readers how to fold pages to transform this book into a beautiful, personal, and long-lasting work of art, as the pages evolve into a colorful HEART sculpture.* Recommended for ages 13 and up (Please call your Barnes and Noble in advance for space and availability, perhaps they will have a sign up sheet)

11am: Learn to draw like Mo Willems Pigeon Books are only 10$ each on this day! Ages 4 and up

1pm: Puppet Making & Holiday Sing-Along Make a puppet and sing favorite songs Recommended ages 4 and up (Please call your Barnes and Noble in advance for space and availability, perhaps they will have a sign up sheet)

7pm: Holiday Fluxx game night Get introduced to this holiday card game with unexpected ever-changing rules Recommended for ages 12 and up

Sunday, Nov 23;

1pm: Snowmen at Night Storytime, Crafts & Activities Discover and experience the secret life of snowmen at night Recommended for ages 4 and up

Customers are invited to discover the many exclusive and featured products Barnes & Noble is carrying this holiday season. Throughout the weekend and after each scheduled activity, booksellers will be on hand to provide personalized “Barnes & Noble Discovery Tours” through different areas of the store to help customers identify great gifts for everyone on their shopping list.

The Barnes & Noble Café will be baking its latest creation, delicious fresh baked S’mores Cookies, throughout the weekend and serving them up for only $1.00 each during special promotional hours at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 21; 10:30 a.m., 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 22; and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23. (Valid while supplies last.)

Wear Outrageous Holiday Attire to Win

To start the holiday season, booksellers will be decked out in festive attire and customers are encouraged to get into the spirit, wearing their Most Outrageous Holiday Sweater to their local Barnes & Noble store.
