Harlem Globetrotters/ 24 Hour Fitness Camp

When I think of the Harlem Globetrotters there are three memories that come to mind.

1.) The song... it's in my brain for life!
2.) Those cool outfits, 70's shorts and red, white and blue.
3.) Them being the COOLEST episode with Scooby Doo. (Still!!)

I never got to see them as a kid, I always wanted to because it was better than just watching a game. It was aerial jumps, defensive things that the pros never did. They had skills I'd never seen on the playground with my friends... okay, we were about 5 foot 2 and couldn't hit the rim... so they had us beat on coolness.

But I never imagined that they'd have a camp to teach us how to do it. Okay.. they aren't going to teach ME how to do it all, because I'm a clumsy lady, but my 8 year old son would get a HUGE kick out of learning his own signature move, having his own Harlem Globetrotter's name and meeting the greats that make up the 2012 Harlem Globetrotter's team

For the first time ever, the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are partnering with fitness club industry leader, 24 Hour Fitness, to host 120 summer skills clinics for youth across the U.S. Designed to take fans ages six to 14 behind the curtain to see the magic behind the Globetrotters' electrifying basketball skills and tricks, participants will also learn about the importance of staying active and eating healthy. The innovative clinics will take place at approximately 40 - 24 Hour Fitness® clubs in nine states over a 10-week period this summer.

WHAT:

3-hour basketball skills clinic coached by the actual stars of The HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS. Exercise that's fun, with the professionals whom parents trust to help their kids learn to play sports with a positive attitude. Register your kid and make this a summer to remember!

WHO: Boys and girls ages 6-14. No basketball experience required, fun for all.

WHEN:

A 3-hour morning skills clinic will run each day, Monday through Friday: 8:30-11:30 a.m.

A 3-hour afternoon skills clinic will run each day, Monday through Friday: 2:00-5:00 p.m.
