Aloha Friday 9/25

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

What anniversary traditions do you have? Do you do something special every year or many times a year? What helps you remember why you feel in love with your significant other when the year marker comes around?

Dave and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary of dating tomorrow. I have found that this 1 year is a monumental thing for me. He has been such a blessing in my life, taught me things I never thought I'd learn and. I want something special for this day. Not huge trips or expensive items... something a bit more meaningful. Now I need ideas, that is where all of ya'll come in, it can be old relationships or new ones.... what have you done to remember...?

Paul and I don't generally do much for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, etc. Kind of sucks for ME, but he's very anti-gift. We do write a lot of heartfelt cards and notes, though, which mean the world to me. I remember last year, he acted like he had forgotten our anniversary, and then when I went out to my car (I was going to a meeting that night) there was a handmade, mushy card (which contained both mushiness AND dirty words, haha) and roses. Fun surprise. Happy Anniversary to you!

Oh I wish I had something good for you but I don't. We still acknowledge our dating anniversary and that is up to 18 years and our wedding anniversary is up to 11. I think the older we get the less we do for this day and that is really sad. Your excitement is inspiring.

We don't really have any traditions for our anniversary, but this year we took a trip to Scotland to celebrate our 20th. I figured I deserved it after all those years!

Our only tradition is that we go out to eat someplace nice, just the two of us :-)

I like to go out to eat with my husband and take a napkin from the restruant with the name of the restraunt and then I write the date and a few special memories on it. I am so sentimental LOL

Sorry, I've never had an anniversary to remember. Hope you find something special for you. =)
