Anticipation of Chiffon and Lace....

It is that time of year again….

……… for me… it is nostalgic.

Brings back a memory of my youth and it is also the first time I have gotten to see it from my mother’s eyes. Here is what my mom saw 18 years ago… a memory caught in time.

Kara has prom on Saturday.

My little girl has her first prom. She has the dress, the hair picked out and a date.

She will spend all day primping and pampering herself until she shines and then she will step out of the house after pictures and plenty of tears off to dance the night away, cause me to worry until I get the text that she is okay and have memories for the rest of her life.

How fast time flew… Do you remember your prom? Do you remember how you prepared for it? What did you do?

Did you even go to prom? If not… why not? Was it because you didn’t get asked? Your guy stood you up or because you refuse to conform to society and didn’t want to fall into the pack? Do you regret not going?

I’d love to hear what you have to say….

Do you have advice for my daughter? Any tips or requests?

Leave the message here or put a post up on your blog with a picture and I’d love to have the link.

This would be a lot of fun to give to her as a memory of her special night!

I went to JR prom at my small school with a date from another school. I was the "VP" in charge of the event, which was a lot of fun. Our theme had soemthing to do with stars - that's all I can remember. I wore the cutest pink dress, which I still have. And, after (gasp) 16 years it's still hanging in my closet! I don't know why....

I went out with a group of friends. We hosted our own "anti-prom." I was happy when my daughter came of age and I saw that prom is much more fun and the kids are more openminded nowadays.
