My weekend

It was a quiet weekend for me.

I got some blogging done, played with my kids and really relaxed.

I slept a lot on Saturday afternoon and took a short nap during the Chicago game on Sunday. It was a great nap, one of those I haven’t had in a long time, curled up, half listening to the football game warm and safe. Strange sensations honestly, like revisiting the past.

LaLa seemed to learn to crawl suddenly on Saturday, like she woke up and decided, “Today is the day I will conquer the world, or at least the dove’s cage outside of my usual domain.” Needless to say she tormented the poor birds for hours, I think they finally got used to her and she became one of them.

D is gone until next Saturday, which means we will go a week and a half before seeing one another again. If I can keep my head out of this whole thing I’ll be better off. I keep trying to analyze something that is better off left alone. Funny, he just called from Arizona, it was just what I needed, to hear his voice. He sounded uplifted, almost apprehensive though happy to hear my voice in return. I think we both needed that, this whole thing is strange for both of us, and if we can keep ourselves from doing anything stupid out of fear of the unknown, we will be an amazing couple.

My other kids are doing well. Kara is dating a new guy, though the whole split up with Taylor was hard on her. It is so hard to watch your child go through heart ache, we have all gone through that, and it takes your breath away.

Ash wants to be a kitty for Halloween (Yes, at 14, she still wants to dress up), but I want her to be Marilyn Monroe (She looks soooo much like her!). Who knows, hopefully she will go with my idea! It’s a nice theory to have a teen listen to ya.

Joey is himself, he and I spent a lot of time together just playing around, watching TV, etc.

Issa was her usual self, acting out a little, but the 2’s are coming on, and it’s the beginning of the end for my little princess head. For a few years she will be coming up on temper tantrums, etc.

Well… I better get back to work and get my head into the game.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I agree, you two are a great couple, so stop worrying! Have you read the book "A New Earth" yet?

Aww, let Ash be a kitty, she will be wanting to dress like a blond bombshell soon enough.
