The Denver Botanic Gardens thrives in the warm Colorado summer months. Among its many summer offerings, this year the Gardens will partner with Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD) to host dance/movement drop-in activities in the Mordecai Children’s Garden. These interactive classes will provide adults with the time to wander and enjoy the Gardens, while their children are interacting and learning about different garden themes. The activities are free with admission, and will be offered every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon fromJune 2 through July 14.
Each Movement and Motion in the Garden class will be led by two CCD instructors, and will mimic different garden themes such as growing like a flower or buzzing like a bee. Below you will find the scheduled themes for each week.
6/2 – Life Cycle of a Plant
6/9 – Plant Parts
6/16 – What Does a Plant Need to Grow?
6/23 – Colorado Ecosystems
6/30 - Pollinators
7/7 – Plants that Dance
7/14 – Carnivorous Plants
If you are making a list of things to do this summer with your kids, make sure you put these on the list!
