My friend Joanna just started 52 Weeks of Cookies.
Yes… 52… whole… weeks! Let me tell ya… these cookies are AWESOME looking. She did a Gone Fishin’ Cookies this week… salty and sweet combo… they look divine!
I like cookies, I like to bake and I totally am digging Tuesday night cookie time with the kids! Last week was my first week doing it, and I just picked an easy recipe for my children and I.
So, join the cookie-dom, find new recipes and take pictures of the family making cookies. It’s like family game night… but with a gooey creation at the end! Oh… and they make great gifts for teachers on back to school night!
2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Sugar sprinkles
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat egg and vanilla. Beat in flour. Roll cookies into a ball and cook for 9-12 minutes.
These are not the best cookies I’ve ever had.
They turned out rather hard and though they made a ton of cookies that got eaten by hungry teens…. They were harder than I would like.

Well, that one's a keeper! This is my first week taking part and I love getting new ideas. Your cookies are perfect in that you can decorate them any way you want and make them so colorful - awesome!!
