"Hot on the Range" giveaway - Birthday Bash - Day 8

When I was growing up in Texas I loved two things, reading and horses. I never grew out of those things, though most people would say it’s because I never grew up. Reading is a love that my teens never got the bug for, but I still have four kids under the age of ten that I get a second chance with.

I read to Jake every night that I see him, I read to my toddlers when I have them and try to sit down myself and read once a week. Lucky me, R.D Jentsch found me and offered me a chance to read her new book.

I found a kindred spirit in her and the lovely characters she creates in “Hot on the Range”. This is a story about friendship between, Chester, Willie and the horses’ “human”. Texas heat is hot, and that is portrayed in “Hot on the Range” as poor Chester searches for ways to stay cool. Bird bath, dirt, shade and finally a cooling “rain shower” seems to do the trick.

My toddlers love this book! They talked about the horses, and made tons of noises, and were very excited to get a new book to enjoy. The illustrations and writing are vivid and evoke the imagery that every little one can enjoy as well as the person reading to them.

How would you like to have a lovely book to read to YOUR little one? R.D. Jentsch has offered one of my readers a copy of her book “Hot on the Range”.

Wanna enter? Here’s how….

Visit Hot on the Range and tell me who the illustrator is.

We love horses !
My in-laws have a farm and raise beef cattle and have a few horses.
I only have an acre so I can't have any, but I do have several organic gardens and lots of herbs and fruit trees...

My kids are being taught to love our planet and to take care of it and the animals that share it with us.

You have a nice blog here, I enjoyed reading it ;)

Organically Yours,
Diana
