Day of Rememberance - Memorial Day

(Picture taken by: Suzanne Bastien (CGM)

On thy grave the rain shall fall from the eyes of a mighty nation!
~Thomas William Parsons

Although no sculptured marble should rise to their memory, nor engraved stone bear record of their deeds, yet will their remembrance be as lasting as the land they honored.
~Daniel Webster

Remember the men and women who are serving, overseas and here in the United States for our country.

They should never be held in disregard nor treated as if they were less of human because of the sacrifice they are willing to make.

In 2009, let us make a difference. Let them know that the people at home are thinking of them.

Perform, then, this one act of remembrance before this Day passes - Remember there is an army of defense and advance that never dies and never surrenders, but is increasingly recruited from the eternal sources of the American spirit and from the generations of American youth. ~W.J. Cameron

If you would like to help make a difference this year, Adopt a Marine through Tara at Respect our Troops.

Have a wonderful day off.

Thanks for taking a moment to honor our service men and women. My husband was an officer in the Coast Guard (now a teacher) and these holidays are important to our family. It's not about going shopping!
