I find the rain romantic, comfortable and the perfect time to sleep and be with those you love.
With my children we play in the puddles, put on our suits and dance in the mud, race pieces of leaves in the streams created by the curb. It is something we all look forward to, a Saturday afternoon rain in the summer.
When nighttime hits and the rains begin after I have fallen asleep, that is a different feeling. I want to curl up in the arms of the man I love, I treasure those moments of melancholy music the rain plays on the windowsill of an open window in the spring.
I want to hear his whispers over the din of rain against the roof and feel him slip from my side for a moment to close the windows as the storm increases with intensity, only to return to the warmth of our bed fading off into sleep once again.
Bring on the rain; bring on the springtime storms and the thunder crashing overhead.
Let us exist within the intensity of things that speak to us if we listen close enough. It is a new season, a season of “firsts” and new beginnings.
Welcome to Spring 2009!

I love the rain when I am trying to sleep....It's just such a soothing sound.
Better rain than snow. Anyday. (Except for Christmas Eve... and only then.)
