She Said- Part 3

He has this swagger about him, it’s confident with a borderline cockiness. He drives a big truck, it’s loud, comfortable and it’s one that makes you feel safe.

We left the restaurant feeling content with one another’s company, climbing back into his truck we started off the discussion of what to do since it was still early, and we weren’t quite ready to end the night. He made the decision, find a point on the map, and let’s drive. It was an adventure I was willing to take.

We hit the gas station, fueled up, got some red vines, hot fries, drinks and headed off to our new destination. Flagler, Colorado. Yea, that is pretty much what I thought… WHERE? Somewhere I’d never been, even better.

Now, everyone knows that if you like to drive, you can’t take the highway; you need to venture out on a path less marked, dirt roads, lights of houses out in the distance and cows. We drove for hours, talking and sharing our lives. It was an interview without the pressure.

How was he with past relationships? How different was he from me? Could he handle who I was as my core self? He’s conservative in a lot of his thinking, and most who know me, know that I am very liberal, open in almost all aspects of my life. How accepting was he that I have 6 kids, and that their father’s and I are close friends?

We stopped on a side road at one point, leaned up against the car and looked at the stars; the night was brilliant, small lights speckled over an ebon sky. He offered me his coat which I readily accepted to ward off the chill of the night. You would expect a kiss right? No, it was abrupt when he suggested we get back into the car. Though before we got off the road, he stopped the truck and the kiss came. I won’t put the details out there of how wonderful that was; even now I can’t help but blush and get giddy like a school girl.

It was an amazing night, we drove around for about 5 hours together, I video taped some of it when we finally got to Flagler, and by the end of the night my cheeks were sore from laughing so much.

We had decided on a second date, there was something there, a spark, the timing was right for both of us, I wasn’t about to let this one pass me up, he was everything I was not.

Opposites attract right?.......

It sounds like the perfect first date, Lilith. No pressure, time to know each other, laughs (soooo important!), and a gentle man to handle with care. A step at atime, his second date promises someting very good. I'm happy for you, girl!
