The Responsibility Project

If you were getting on a bus, and saw someone steal someone elses purse, would you stop them? How would you do it?

*Would you confront them immediately?
*Call 911?
*How about yell to the other passengers that the thief was on the bus?

Do you take responsibility for it, or just assume that it will work itself out in the end?

Transit, a video on Liberty Mutual's ~The Responsibility Project~ confronts that issue. It's a powerful short take on the age old question... What if....?

*****************************************************************************

Responsibility:

1.the state or fact of being responsible.
2.an instance of being responsible: The responsibility for this mess is yours!
3.a particular burden of obligation upon one who is responsible: the responsibilities of authority.
4.a person or thing for which one is responsible: A child is a responsibility to its parents.

What do we teach our children about responsibility? Is it to show by example to their siblings, or treat the world with respect so that we ourselves are treated that way?

Liberty Mutual wants you to start thinking about t
hose questions. At what point in time do we need to step up and take a stand. We teach our children how to be polite and go to school and listen. However, do we teach them what is the "right" thing to do?

Go to the Liberty Mutual website, show some of the videos and talk about it. It might never come up.. but...

What if...?

*special Thanks to Mom Central for the chance to share these videos and amazing directors to my readership.*
