Origami Paper Flower Wedding Bouquet

I knew from the moment I saw this photo and this bouquet, that I wanted this in my wedding.

Dave and I decided when we sent our Save the Date cards, we would put 5 pieces of origami paper with a note and everyone should write words of encouragement on the papers. Then we got them back and folded them into little flowers.

Yes, each flower is 5 pieces of origami squares.

Folded.

By us.

Within the last month or so before our wedding.

My fingers still hurt just thinking about it however, the finished bouquet was.... perfect.

If you are looking for the directions: I will leave it to the professionals and send you here to Capital Romance that walked me through it every step of the way.

Tips:

* I got tiny clothespins to hold the papers together while they were drying.
* Instead of wooden dowels, I used cake pop holders and cut them in half. (Like these)
* I got little pearl like half beads to glue in the middle of the flower to hide the cake pop holder.
* The size of the origami paper can vary, but I used these from Origami Paper shop

This was a perfect, original bouquet that is now on the side table in our master bedroom, it's perfect and one of my most favorite things from our special day.

What did you do with your bouquet after your wedding?

Hi Suzanne,

You did a fabulous job on your bouquet! I've visited the Capital Romance site for the step by step instructions but can you offer any advice on how to secure the handle to the foam ball? I want to make bouquets for a friends wedding. Thanks!
