Aloha Friday - 1/15

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

If you could give $1,000 to a volunteer organization, who would you give it to? What cause would you want to give it to?

Have a great Friday every!

This was a tough ? as I have a few close to my heart so it is hard to pick just one so I will list my top 3. Cerebral Palsy, as my sister has this, America Cancer Society, & St. Jude's Hosp.

Our local Volunteer Fire Dept. I hope to never have need of their services, but they do a great job and deserve the support. I think this is something a lot of people don't think about until something happens too.

Right now because it is in the news I would say Haiti relief, but normally I would probably say World Vision.

I would give $1,000 to our school. The school district is so far in the whole right now that the school barely has enough money to stay open 5 days a week. Things aren't looking so well...so even in the big picture $1,000 is not a lot to a school, it could definitely make a difference for someone.
Happy Friday!

Well, right now it would be somewhere in Haiti. Other than that..."Girls with Sole" a new organization I just learned about. Sounds good.

Normally I would say the Great Dane Rescue League, but I have to agree that Haiti needs it more now.

I would give it to Haiti currently. It's amazing what is happening over there. Second choice would be a local food bank or local charity. Happy Friday.

I agree that Haiti relief is a good one right now, but ordinarily I think I would give it to a battered womens' shelter.

I would say my local Aids project. Hope you have a great weekend !

I would give it to The Victory Junction Gang. It is an organization that runs a camp for disabled and ill children. They get all medical care for free while they are there and they get to go for free! It is run by the Petty's and nascar.

I would give it to Convoy of Hope. They can turn $1,000,000 into many times that much as many manufacturers are happy to donate their products. They go to places like Haiti in response to natural disasters or man-made ones. They give water, food, clothing, etc to help people make it thru. They give with love and compassion and are quite often the first organization to arrive. I have already given to them and I know that the money is used wisely.

I would probably try to keep it local. There are some great organizations here that help battered women and children. I buy gifts for them each year and I know a lot of money like that would really help too.

If you have time, come check out My Aloha Friday. Have a great weekend!

I would definitely donate it to American Cancer Society. I'm your latest follower. Good question.

Right now it would be Red Cross to help with the Haiti situation. Those poor people and their families and homes. My hearts and prayers go out to them.
