The Dangerous Days of Daniel X

"They killed my Mother and Father- and I will hunt them to the ends of the earth"

-Daniel X

Kind of sucks you in doesn't it?

How about this?

1. Take a deep, deep breath
2. Disregard everything anyone has ever told you about life on earth
3. Turn the page

- True Confessions (First two pages of Daniel X)

I loved the perspective of The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, it's like finding a friends journal and going through his experiences. There are no boring speeches or descriptions that sound forced or condescending. It is perfectly executed in only the way that James Patterson can do.

My son loved the "us" time we got reading this. The cover of the book is a bit deceiving, I thought it would be novel-like when I first saw the book however, I was proven wrong from page one. The ending of every chapter was an invitation to the next, I would suggest having a lot of time to sit down and read, because you will need it!

Reading is hard these days, not just for us busy parents, but for our kids. Our boys in particular are finding the desire to read pushed aside behind other activities, such as video games and movies. I am not saying we should get rid of those, however we need to find new ways to entice our young generation of boys to participate with the written word.

Start with The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, and you will not be disappointed. I loved how my son wanted to hear more, and even took the book from my bedside to read it when he was waiting on me in the morning. I could not ask for a better response, the book lived up to it's expectations and then some.

Now I must go and place this on my daughters bed, she is next up to read this, and I won't hear the end of it should she be missing it in the morning!

You can find The Dangerous Days of Daniel X on Amazon.com

Is this one worth reading? I was thinking about picking it up but ultimately decided against it after being told it was targeted to a younger audience.

BTW, if the kiddos liked this, you might also consider the "Maximum Ride" series by the same author - good stuff.

Yes, I agree with Tim, if you haven't already, pick up the Maximum Ride books.

Everything James Patterson writes, young adult or adult is great. I have darn near everything he's ever written on my book shelf. I got Daniel X for myself, lol! The kids got to read it, too, though ;O)
