For My Kids product review and GIVEAWAY!

When Christine from For My Kids first approached me, I was totally excited about reviewing her non-toxic and natural products.

I read her
site, and then read it again, it finally sunk in.

The world is a scary place. The toys our children play with, drink out of and sleep next to are toxic. Our childrens formula is coming in containers that have the potential of being poisoned and then, the lotions we lather our children in every night are full of things that aren't even allowed in most other countries.

I don't know about you all, but my Issa-boo is addicted to lotion. She eats it every chance she gets, if I'm clumsy and leave it out, she'll find it and get it open just to lick the top or lick it off her hands. After researching about the toxins in our hand sanitizers and lotions, I've become very wary of where I keep them.

Then Christine came along with her product. She was wonderful enough to send me some items and I can say.. I'm sold. I got rid of all the other things I've been using and am now solely using these!

Issa-boo is clumsy like me. We are tall, lanky, and crash into everything. So, the other day, she was opening the front door at her Daddy's house, and put a pretty decent gouge in the top of her pretty foot. After washing her feet, putting this wonderful salve on with a pink bandaid, she was back to her happy self once again. This salve is made from organic extra-virgin olive oil, candelilla wax, organic tamanu oil, organic comfrey, organic calendula, and organic lavender. A little goes a long way with this, keep it in the diaper bag and it will make those boo-boos feel better!

My mother was addicted to chapstick when I was growing up. She had a tube in every room, and two in each purse. Is she ever forgot it, her lips would chap up, mainly because when you use chapstick or things like that, you deny your bodies ability to create the moisture on it's own. I have swore it off, except for medicated products, until For My Kids came out with this. It's perfect, simple and natural enough for me to use on the slopes this year for my snowboarding return! I can't wait!!

Every Sunday is cleaning day. We scrub, vaccuum, scent and dance for two hours until our house looks normal again. After everyone relaxes, I go around and spray down the keyboard, phone, door knobs, cabinets, toilet, etc. This is a wonderful way to keep your house healthy without spraying more toxins into the air.

Double-distilled Witch Hazel extract, distilled water, organic tamanu oil, and a proprietary blend of organic essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, and sweet orange are what make up this final product. I use some products when I am out with my kids to keep them from touching too many things. However, this I love. I was always anxious putting those highly alcoholic products on my girls hands just to sanitize them. I knew there had to be a better way. Christine figured it out! This product is a wonderful hand sanitizer, and is now a staple in my diaper bag for all my kids.

Now, for the part most of you are looking for.

The giveaway!

Christine has a new product that many of us with young kids have been hoping for. A heathy alternative to mosquito repellent. It is made out of an interesting ingredient. 100% pure organic catnip essential oil, it is 10 times more effective than DEET and doesn't have the harmful side effects.

How cool is that? And she is offering a 1 oz tin of For My Kids Herbal Insect Repellent to one lucky reader!

Rules:

1) Must be in the US (Sorry to those outside)

2) To enter: Leave a message on this post about what more additions you would like to see added to For My Kids, or the product you love the most and why.

3.) I will e-mail the winner and put the results on PrizeyWinners. If you don't wish to leave your e-mail address, you can check there for the results. This giveaway ends on August 1, 2008 at 5pm. I will let the winner know by August 3, 2008.

4) Extra entry: "Our kids are the canaries in a coal mine", visit For My Kids and tell me who was the person who said this.

Have fun and good luck! Talk with you all soon!

I have the All Natural Vegan Lip Balm and love it. My son is a constant lip-licker and suffers the consequences, especially in the summer and winter. I'd love to try the bug repellant.

I'd love to try the For My Kids All-Natural Hand Wash. It seems like it would be a lot safer than all the other hand washes/sanitizers that are offered in the stores.

I like the comfrey salve best! My girls get so many little scrapes and cuts, and I'd love to have something natural and healing to soothe them.

I'm all for all-natural sunscreen too. Nano-particles, weird unpronouncable ingredients...Its a hard one.

The quote is from Kenneth Bock. I read his book a few months ago and it totally changed the way I look at taking care of my kids' health.

My son just blasted himself with chemical based bug repellent the other day. I would love for a chance to have some natural type. It would certainly put me at ease. Thanks.

Cleaning Wipes...They are so quick and easy, I think this would be a great addition!

I would love the All-Natural Hand Wash since my kids wash their hands so many times in one day this is the product that I think would be most beneficial to them :)

I'm with an earlier commenter - I'd like to see an all-natural sunblock, please!

Oh, and the canary question? The answer is Dr. Kenneth Bock.

I'd like to see shampoo maybe, the way it stings their eyes always concerns me. What if I inadvertently let some horrible chemical burn out his retinas?

Dr. Kenneth Bock made that very astute statement. Scary, but true.

I would like to try the hand wash. Ya know, I would love to see an all natural bug repellent too. I live in a mosquito infested area and that is all we think about are the bugs!

The Comfrey-salve looks terrific!

I would love to see a sunscreen that I could apply to my baby's scalp. He is fair haired and fair skinned. So his baby keppie is a little pink :(

And the canary quote is from Dr. Kenneth Bock who wrote "Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies."

these sound like great products! I think I would really like the mosquito repellent- we have too many of them darn bugs around here and it's hard to enjoy being outside!

What terrific products. I feel terrible keeping my son inside in the late afternoon, but our bugs seem to love him- he's too sweet! I'd love to try the bug repellent. Cleaning wipes would be a great idea for a new product. Thanks for the offer! The canary quote is from Dr. Kenneth Bock.

I haven't tried any of your products yet but I'd really like the Vegan lip balm. My daughter is vegan and so everything I buy for her must be too. I try to buy vegan items for myself too out of respect for her. I'd like the For My Kids All-Natural Hand Wash because it would be great for on-the-go in public bathrooms.
Thanks for the giveaway.

My favorite really is the Herbal Insect Repellent, I hate that my daughter gets bug bites but there's no way that I'm covering her in the toxic DEET stuff that we use. This would be wonderful!

Thanks,
