Weight loss- Week Two- Status Report

I was feeling a bit off this past week, though I did workout two days, I ate amazingly well, however I indulged a bit more than I normally would.

I got on the scale last night with a bit of trepidation only to find, I'd lost 4.9 pounds. HECK YEA!!

I did notice a change on Wednesday. I was with Dave and he wrapped his arms around me to give me a hug, and the hug felt different, He would fully wrap me into his arms.. it was awesome! This is well worth that amazing feeling, because even he commented on it.

This week I found:

*I love working out with my daughters. We have had so much fun doing dance cardio together!

*I went to volunteer for a the roller derby girls here in Denver on Sunday, I plan on being fit enough to tryout in June. Next up.. buying skates!

*I have great incentive to do more cardio, watching those girls skate, I need all I can get!

Water, Water, Water, it is the key component in weight loss.

How did your week go? What favorite exercise did you learn?

I hope everyone had a great week!
Keep up the good work!

Monday Motivation #1

Here is my progress.

Week 1:

I worked out 3 days, ate healthy 5 days, and I lost 1.1 pound.

I was a little disappointed in this, however, my optimism only allowed me to be discouraged for a short time.

That is 1.1 pound I don't have to lose again.
That is 1.1 pound that I do not have to carry.
That is 1.1 pound of the past... gone forever!

With that said.. I lost 3.3 mental pounds... That's pretty good!

This week, I will work out for 5 days, I have auditions for two plays on Saturday and volunteering for the Roller Girls in Denver on Sunday. Busy week... I will have great news next Monday!

Tip of the week:

Do you have a job where you sit on your rump all day? Or do you have a job where getting to the water fountain isn’t as easy?

Bring two cups with tops with you to work/home, etc. Everytime you go to the water fountain, fill up both cups. That way, you at least have two glasses before you get up for lunch, etc.

I make some Chai in one cup, and water in the other. Then I have hot and cold, depending on my need!

Some studies are saying that American’s eat more food, because we are so dehydrated our bodies try to get our daily water needs in our food consumption. Let’s help our bodies out!!

Today’s food:

Breakfast- Total Cinnamon toast crunch

AM mid-meal- ½ cup of cottage cheese, 1 apple

Lunch- Tuna Sandwich

PM mid-meal- Wasa cracker, turkey meat (2 oz)

Dinner- Elk tacos

How did you do? I hope you are going into your week with motivation!

January 5th… the day of my resolution.

I need to lose 20 pounds by April 5th.

Why? Because I said so… Because my pants demand it, because I need to make sure to keep up with my kids, my friends and my lovely boyfriend and I need to know that I am in the best shape of my life. My parents started in their 30’s and they are still young at heart.

My nemesis… food, Oh.. and my stomach. See. I love food. I love to cook, I love to eat, I love to feed people and I really like the feel of a full tummy, my computer chair… and my cooshy buttocks on the padded seat.

… Clothing. See… my jeans don’t like the full tummy, that tummy likes to hang over my sexy girl jeans! So.. I must make it go away, because it is not so sexy to have the muffin top!

I must start with my food and I must plan out my meals to keep myself from faltering:

Here is my menu for the week:

Monday: Chicken Caesar Pitas

Tuesday: Bacon Wrapped Apple BBQ Chicken

Wednesday: Little Dipper Pizza Fondue Recipe (This is for the kids)

Thursday: CrockPot Salsa Chicken Recipe

Friday: Free day, everyone eats whatever they want!

Saturday: Grilled Chicken, Broccoli, Fruit and Rolls

Sunday: Chicken Tacos, Spanish rice and beans

I’ll try to put up pictures as much as I can, I am also going to get advice from one of the National Body Challenge competitors, Chef Amy on how to get the recipes more low fat. She offered her help yesterday and has lost a lot of weight already!

On Wednesday and Friday I will be at Dave’s house for dinner, so I’ll let you know what he spoiled me with.

Thank you to A Year of Crockpotting and $5 dinners for my recipe ideas for the week!

New Years Resolution

Hello everyone!

We all have our resolutions, even if we don't call them that, we celebrate the New Years with something new.

I know a lot of us are looking at weightloss, it's a tough topic, no one wants to admit that their waist is bigger than it's ever been or even, just bigger than last year.

I'd love to blame my new guy, I've gained 3 pounds since meeting him! 3 pounds... goodness gracious!! I blame the late night chocolate cake and oreo's that we indulge in.... ~grins~

So, Here is my plan for the new year!

This is my advice:

Get your mind set straight

*Setting a goal date to start ~Mine is January 5~

*Take a day off where I can eat whatever I want (this one is paramount to me, because after a while, you no longer want the foods from the past. And dieting should not be about denial, it is a lifestyle change.)

*Setting an ending goal date. (A light at the end of the tunnel is wonderful, you can always "reup" the challenge to yourself. ~Mine is April 5~)

*Set up a schedule in advance, so you know what you are going to be doing everyday. It is like a menu, it helps keep you on track!

*Buying a few sets of clothes NOW that fit me, so I can know what my exact size is and when they start getting looser, I know I'm doing something right!

Then, find out what work outs you like to do. Comcast has a ton of them On Demand that you can change up all the time. Discovery Health also has some everyday depending on what you are looking to work on.

Keep motivated, find weight loss friends, in real life or online! One step at a time!!

I am going to start Motivation Mondays, and I plan on doing it as a Vlog.... ~grins~ This should be fun!!

Weight Loss

I am convinced that Jillian Michaels hates me!

Yes, she's never met me, but she's a huge tease and calls me out JUST to see if I'll join her team of insanity. And I did.

You know how I know this? Because she put her Shred One on Comcast On Demand, so I thought.. YES.. I can do this. I can work out and get back into shape.

Tonight was the beginning of it for me. I quit smoking today (YES.. I am insane, thank you for asking, please continue my story before I realize what I just wrote! It's been three hours, luckily my lungs are still trying to recover from the trip to the abyss with Jillian Michaels leading the charge, that I don't even want one!.. I digress....)
I start working out... Oh.. Jumping jacks, it's only 32 minutes.. EASY..
NO! This woman tore me up, she ripped my body apart and is slowly rebuilding it, piece by piece, painfully, so I can't breath and so my legs say.. "YES YES... NO.. .we are leaving!"

And after my half an hour of torture, and using two flashlights as weights ( I KNOW! I need weights, I'm just kinda poor this month, perhaps for my b-day!) I crawled to the shower, scrubbed my body of the memory of the workout and finally flopped onto the futon for some relaxation.

However, It was the best workout I've ever had.
Jillian is amazing, she knows how to push you right when you are at the end of your rope. She knows what to say, and what to do for motivation. She's on! She's good... and I'd follow her into the abyss anyday!

Day one.... many more to go.

Pounds Down: 0
Weight: NOT TELLING! Yet. I wanna have pictures, so ya'll can get a reference. :)
