The Jungle Book - In Theatres April 15, 2016

Mesmerize, Enthrall, Spellbind, Entrance

These are words I'd use to describe this movie! I spent the first hour of this movie on the edge of my seat staring at the screen in awe. The cinematography is outstanding.

Even as an adult who has seen The Jungle Book since I was a young girl, this movie captivated me at every turn. Key things about the movie:

* No bloodshed. Yes, there is blood, but it is NOT gruesome.
*Death is swift and not drawn out with unnecessary sounds or gore.
*The story is rich, as rich as it was when we saw it in animated form years ago.
*I would not suggest this movie for kids under the age of 7. It can be a tad startling. It is rated at PG-13

The soundtrack is mesmerizing and the cinematography is unmatched for Disney movies. Take your kids out and make sure you see this movie as soon as you can. We will be purchasing it when it comes out on Blueray for sure!

Movie comes out today!

Family movie night with Redbox Rentals

Dave and I were single parents when we met, in those 2.5 years we have blended our families together and through some careful negotiation we have two weekends on with the kids and two weekends off.

So, during the weekends we have the kids, a new family time was created, something the three youngest look forward to. "Movie Night"... last weekend was Megamind (funny, funny movie) and hopefully soon Tangled will be showing up in the Blu-Ray player for our viewing enjoyment.

How would you like to start up a similar night with the kids once a month, great idea right? Have a popcorn bar, some juice and turn all the lights off in the house, it's a hoot!

Luckily Redbox is doing it's “Lucky to Have Friends Like You” Campaign.

Now your friends and family can help you to score free movies from redbox.  Spread the word, soon your teens will have their friends helping out so they can watch the newest teen flick in the comfort of their own home!

Here’s How it Works:

o Sign-up at www.redbox.com/luckyus

o Redbox will email you a unique web address

o Every time someone reserves a movie online through your unique web address through March 17, you’ll receive a credit for a free one-night DVD rental. Rental credits are valid for ten (10) days after they’ve been deposited into your account.

o If it is their first time reserving online, they’ll also receive a credit for a free one night rental

o Spread the luck! Email it, post it to Facebook, Tweet about it

Go ahead... go on over and make sure you get Megamind... I'm serious when I say it's for the kids and adults. Then come back and tell me what you think, I fell in love with the villain and that NEVER happens :)

All about me in 30 days - Favorite Movie

I remember going to small independent film theaters with my father. I was his movie partner, in my childhood I didn't go to the movies and see anything that was kid related, from the time I was old enough to read I went to subtitled art films and movies with amazing soundtracks though horrible acting.

Then there were some movies that stuck with me. "Blade Runner" - was instrumental in me NEVER wearing a see through raincoat.. Y'know... just in case.

The greatest memory I have with my father was sitting next to him, in a theater with the sound of a waterfall coming from all sides. My father's excitement to see this movie, "The Mission" about Indians he worked with in South America and an epic tale of the Jesuit priests and their fight against unfair claiming of lives.

As he sat next to me and the soundtrack from Ennio Morricone filled the empty spaces, my heart skipped a beat. The drums, and the storyline captured my soul, as it still does. I watched tears stream down my father's face at the ending scene... it was the first time I realized my father was human.
